Representatives of 11 Far Eastern organizations took part in the signing ceremony of the AI Ethics Code at the Eastern Economic Forum on the 7th of September. The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic Alexei Chekunkov, and First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank Alexander Vedyakhin.
“It is symbolic that the signing ceremony in the Far East is taking place on the site of Far Eastern Federal University. After all, FEFU is one of the largest universities and the center of the digital development of the Far East. Today there are more than 200 large IT companies in the Far East that are leaders on the Russian and foreign markets,” Dmitry Chernyshenko said at the signing ceremony.
“More than 100 Russian companies and organizations have already joined the Code, and this year it is truly acquiring the status of a national one. Along with geography of participants the set of instruments we use for development of the Code is enlarging as well: working groups, which monitor modern Russian and international tendencies, were created in the Commission on the Code, so the document does not lose its relevance,” Alexander Vedyakhin noted.
The following eleven organizations are among the new signatories to the code: Far Eastern Federal University, Vladivostok State University, Pacific State Medical University, Maritime State University, Avrora SPG LLC, Areal Invest LLC, Target Argo LLC, NPTI LLC (Nevada GC), Pozitiv.rus, Russian Technopark and Babybrain.
The Code was developed and is being improved at the AI Alliance, together with representatives of the academic community and with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development and the Analytical Center for the Government. Among the first to sign the document were Sber, Yandex, MTS, VK, Gazprom Neft and the Russian Direct Investment Fund, as well as other leading companies and institutions.
AI Alliance unites leading technological companies for joint development of their competences and accelerated implementation of AI in education, scientific research and practical business activities. The Alliance companies are Sber, Gazprom Neft, Yandex, VK, MTS and RDIF. The mission of the association is to be the center of AI development in Russia and to provide technological leadership for our country and the Alliance companies in the global technology market.
