Alexander Vedyakhin – at WEF-2023: More than 200 organisations have joined the Code of Ethics in the field of AI

There are already more than 200 Russian and international organizations that have signed the Code of Ethics in the Field of Artificial Intelligence. This was stated by First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank Alexander Vedyakhin within the framework of the EEF-2023.

The Commission for the Implementation of the Code of Ethics in the Field of Artificial Intelligence, operating on the basis of the Alliance in the Field of Artificial Intelligence, recently approved applications from another 39 organizations to join the code. After the inclusion of new participants, the number of code signatories reached 226.

“The number of code participants continues to grow, and we are very excited about the expansion of our community. Scaling ethics in AI not only nationally, but also internationally, directly contributes to our core mission of developing safe and responsible AI systems that users trust.”

Signatories of the code are leading Russian and foreign technology companies, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, government agencies and startups from 27 regions of the Russian Federation and 17 jurisdictions. Let us recall that at the Russia-Africa forum, which was held in August, 15 companies from 12 countries, including 10 African countries, joined the code.

The Code of Ethics in the Field of Artificial Intelligence was adopted in 2021 and is being improved at the AI Alliance site by representatives of the business community together with representatives of the academic community with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the National Center for AI Development under the Government of the Russian Federation.

AI Alliance unites leading technological companies for joint development of their competences and accelerated implementation of AI in education, scientific research and practical business activities. The Alliance companies are Sber, Gazprom Neft, Yandex, VK, MTS and RDIF. The mission of the association is to be the center of AI development in Russia and to provide technological leadership for our country and the Alliance companies in the global technology market.
