AI Alliance and ICT Companies Join Forces to Accelerate AI Adoption

APRIL 24, 2026

On April 22, the first meeting of the “AI in ICT” industry club—established under the auspices of the Artificial Intelligence Alliance and chaired by Rostelecom—took place in Moscow. The goal of launching the industry club was to establish a unified position for the ICT sector on issues related to the application of AI. The event was attended by representatives of Russia’s largest telecommunications companies—Rostelecom, VimpelCom, MTS, Megafon, and T2—as well as representatives of vendors and data center operators.

The meeting was opened by Daryi Khalitov, Deputy President and Chairman of the Management Board of Rostelecom: “Artificial intelligence is now becoming one of the key drivers enabling companies in the industry to restructure internal and external processes carried out in the interests of customers, so that the services provided ultimately become more accessible and reliable. In this context, the industry club serves as an effective platform for industry companies and vendors to overcome emerging barriers and promote business development through AI.”

The meeting participants discussed the concept of the industry club as well as the work plan for 2026. Key areas of focus include aligning the industry with government policy, developing trusted AI infrastructure, establishing data center standards for AI tasks, and creating industry-specific databases for training Russian AI models.

Following the meeting, the participants agreed on a roadmap for the industry club for 2026, which calls for compiling standards and establishing requirements for AI infrastructure, publishing a methodology for assessing the effects of AI implementation in the industry, and conducting an analysis of the Russian computing power market.
