The AI Alliance Presents a White Paper on Artificial Intelligence Ethics

DECEMBER 12, 2024

At the international AI Journey conference, the AI Alliance’s Commission on the Implementation of the AI Ethics Code presented a white paper on artificial intelligence ethics.

The White Paper is a detailed and carefully structured overview of pressing ethical issues arising in the implementation of artificial intelligence. It focuses on more than 40 questions covering a wide range of topics: from data privacy and autonomous decision-making to the creation of digital simulations and accountability for the use of AI. The authors offer readers an in-depth analysis of modern AI technologies and explore the moral and social aspects of their development.

The book was compiled using current research, international documents, survey data, and the opinions of developers and users gathered by the Commission for the Implementation of the Code of Ethics. Through engagement with the signatories of the code, the authors were also able to identify a range of ethical issues. Many of these were compiled and discussed by members of a special Commission working group tasked with developing a set of best practices, as well as at nationwide forums on AI ethics over the past four years. All of these materials form the basis of the book.

The book’s authors include leading experts, lawyers, psychologists, and researchers—those who face ethical challenges on a daily basis in the development and use of AI technologies. They offer practical solutions, recommendations, and approaches for implementing AI in a way that serves the human good. At the same time, the book does not aim to provide definitive answers—rather, it opens up a space for dialogue, where each question serves as a starting point for reflection and discussion. The book is intended for scientists, educators, psychologists, healthcare professionals, lawyers, developers, and anyone concerned about how AI is changing our world. This is not just a book to read; it is a dialogue—a dialogue between those who develop cutting-edge technologies and those who are interested in where this rapid progress is leading us.
